Employee Recognition

 

The Georgia Department of Corrections strives to recognize employee's commitment, service, and personal and professional accomplishments through scheduled award ceremonies during the year. GDC also recognizes outside agencies and partners that are instrumental to the success of the agency.

The various programs utilized to honor these employees and outside entities are the Central Office Quarterly Awards Programs, Public Employee Recognition Week Programs and the Departmental Annual Awards Program. There are also various programs at GDC locations across the state.

  GDC Annual Awards Program  

On an annual basis, employees and outside contributors are recognized at the GDC Annual Awards Program. This program brings individuals and groups from across the state together to be recognized for their individual and team efforts in aiding the Georgia Department of Corrections to accomplish it's mission of protecting the public. Awards are presented in, but not limited to, the following categories:

Public Employee Recognition Week

During this national week of recognition, the Governor presents awards in various categories at a ceremony honoring state employees who made outstanding contributions. Awards are presented in, but not limited to the following categories:

Central Office Quarterly Awards Program

Central Office employees are honored once per quarter in a ceremony that recognizes new employees and provides rewards and recognition for employees in each Division. Awards are presented in, but not limited to, the following categories:
