New employees select their benefits when first hired. Current employees are permitted to change their benefits during "Open Enrollment," a once-a-year event. Changes can be made under more restrictive circumstances if the employee has a life-changing event during the year (for example a qualifying event would be birth or adoption of a child, death in family, marriage, divorce).

Electronic Enrollment for New Hires - Flexible Benefits                                                                              
New employees are able to make their on-line enrollment selections by logging onto the Team Georgia website and follow directions under the Flexible Benefits tab. Additionally, they are able to complete dependent information, medical underwriting, and life insurance beneficiary information.

New employees may choose or decline one of the two health insurance options offered by SHBP.

Electronic Open Enrollment - Selecting benefits on-line is quick and easy!                                         
During the yearly Open Enrollment period GDC employees have the option of selecting their benefits through separate on-line web enrollment sites for Flexible Benefits (Cafeteria Program) and State Health Benefits. Employees are able to review benefit options they had selected during the previous year and select new options on-line.
